Is granite film a good way to update countertops?

I just stumbled across another way to update your countertops. It's a vinyl granite film that is supposed to be durable and fool the eye into thinking it's the real thing. Rachel Ray even had it on her show! Check out the links below.

It's more expensive than my painting method (http://diywhyspendmore.blogspot.com/2013/10/faux-granite-countertops-for-next-to.html), but might be a good alternative for those of you who are leery of painting and using the epoxy.

A 3'x12' roll is $89.95.

They also have vinyl film that will make your appliances look like stainless steel: http://www.stainlesssteelfilm.com/

I haven't tried this method, but might have to in the future. Let me know if you have!
